Namibia and Namibian Desert Safaris
Namibia is located in Southwest Africa to the west of Botswana and South Africa. At various times throughout recent history, Namibia has fallen under the governance of Germany, Britain, and South Africa. It finally gained independence in 1990, and has subsequently thrived in its own unique culture and is a popular destination today.
Etosha National Park
Unimaginable scenery and wildlife are what you will encounter in Etosha. The National Park is a massive protected area whose geography features sweeping grasslands dotted with dry salt pans, the most prominent of which the Park is named for. The natural springs found to the south-east of the main pan provide respite to a large array of Africa’s large mammals during the dry season.
The Namibian Desert
The Namibian Desert is thought to be the oldest desert on the planet. This beautiful backdrop and geography make for dramatic photographic opportunities for adventure enthusiasts.
Skeleton Coast/Damaraland
We also visit the Skeleton Coast/Damaraland in the northeast of Namibia. The name Skeleton Coast is undoubtedly derived from mariners who ran aground on the unforgiving rocks along this portion of coastline. Magnificent desert-adapted animals and marine wildlife are all highlighted in this region of the country, and are a must-see for intrepid safari-goers!
Not all those who wander are lost.
